Nursing Admission Profile

CRITERIA POINT DISTRIBUTION
GPA
  • Use retention GPA
4.00-3.50 = 30 points
3.49-3.00 = 20 points
2.99-2.50 = 10 points
2.49 or less = 0 point

Required college courses completed:

  • Student earns one (1) point for each credit hour completed with a grade C or better in courses required for the A.A.S degree with major in nursing
     
  • Student may earn one (1) point for each credit hour of pre-requisite courses taken at OSU-OKC, up to five (5) bonus points.

37 possible hours = Up to 37 points

5 courses at OSU-OKC= 1 point per course, up to 5 points

Required science courses completed:

  • Student earns points for science courses completed with a grade C or better
Up to 14 points:
CHEM 1154 = 2 points
BIOL 2214 = 5 points
PSIO 2314 = 5 points
MCRO 2124 = 2 points

Required science courses taken at OSU:

  • Student earns one (1) point for each science course completed with a grade C or better at OSU-OKC or OSU-Stillwater

Up to 4 points:
Chemistry = 1 point
Anatomy = 1 point
Physiology = 1 point
Microbiology = 1 point

Pre-admission nursing exam:

  • Student earns points based on pre-admission nursing exam percentile
     
  • Note: Applicants must score a minimum of 75% on the HESI A2 exam for consideration as a candidate for the nursing program. Students can take the exam two times per application cycle with 4 weeks in between, not to exceed 4 times a year.  There is no limit to the number of times an applicant may apply for admission to the OSU-OKC Nurse Science Program

HESI A2:
100 - 95% = 30 points
94.99 - 90% = 25 points
89.99 - 85% = 20 points
84.99 - 80% = 15 points
79.99 - 75% = 10 points
74.99 or less = 0 point

Additional Preference Points:

  • Any student with an EMT (any level below Paramedic), AUA or CNA certification will receive one (1) preference point.
  • Any student with LPN or Paramedic licensure will receive two (2) preference points.

***To receive these points, applicants must submit proof of licensure/certification with their application.

EMT/AUA/CNA = 1 point
LPN/Paramedic = 2 points
