COVID-19 Guidelines

For the health and safety of the OSU-OKC campus community, Project SOAR will continue to serve students virtually through online meetings. If an in-person meeting is necessary, an appointment must be scheduled in advance. To schedule an appointment, email or call (405) 945-8627.

While visiting the office, we request that you wear a mask and practice social distancing of at least 6 feet. If you do not have a mask we will meet in The Hub and practice social distancing.

Our staff works the following hours/is available at the following times for the fall 2020 semester:

In-person office hours:

  • Monday: Deborah – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Holli –1 0 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Wednesday: Kenia and Bri – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Thursday: Hayden – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Friday: Dezzarae and Cheri – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

SOAR virtual office hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tutoring hours:

  • English specialist hours: Monday-Friday – 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Math specialist hours: Monday-Thursday – 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Science specialist hours: Monday-Thursday – 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Project SOAR's Mission

  • Project SOAR (Students Overcoming Academic Roadblocks) is a Student Support Services, federally-funded TRIO program designed to promote educational access for underrepresented students. 
  • The main emphasis of the program is to provide a supportive environment where OSU-Oklahoma City students can come for assistance in meeting their unique academic, personal, career, and social needs.
  • The program’s mission is to help each student succeed in their classes and graduate.

Who Qualifies?

You must be enrolled as an OSU-Oklahoma City student and in need of academic support. In addition, you must be classified as one of the following:

  • First-generation college student (neither parent has a four-year college degree)
  • Financially disadvantaged
  • Disability

  • Cultural events
  • Field trips
  • Advocacy
  • Referrals to campus and community resources
  • Orientation to campus activities

    • Test anxiety
    • Parenting skills
