In the past, management was simply the process of organizing and coordinating business
activities in order to achieve defined objectives. But in today’s ever-changing and
complex business world, management plays a crucial role in the success of the business
or industry. The Associate of Applied Science in Management degree emphasizes three
core areas: management, marketing and general business to provide a well-rounded background
of the business environment.
Why management?
The curriculum is not only for newcomers to the workplace; seasoned professionals
are equipped with vital and specialized knowledge to allow them to make an immediate
impact within their businesses and industries. Class sizes are relatively small and
students have access to tutoring and a computer lab.
OSU-OKC’s Management AAS emphasizes three core areas: management, marketing and general
business to provide a well-rounded background of the business environment. Graduates
are taught to plan, organize, motivate, control, represent and innovate while gaining
the supervisory, managerial and communication skills necessary to ensure success in
entry-level or middle-management positions.
General Business A.A.S.
Want an education in business that offers flexibility for future careers? Consider
a degree in general business. This path allows students to take a broad approach to
their business education. Students with a general business background can find careers
in sales, retail and banking while others become entrepreneurs who own and operate
their own business. Graduates of this program are equipped with the supervisory, managerial
and communication skills to prepare them for challenges of the marketplace and ensure
success in entry-level or middle-management positions.
