When is the deadline to apply for graduation?
- Fall Term: December 1

How long will it take to process my application?
Please allow up to 10 business days for your application to be processed. Once your application has been processed, you will be notified via email if you qualify for graduation, or if you are missing degree requirements.
If you would like to check on the status of your application, or have not received an update regarding your application, please call 945-8680.
I am graduating with a certificate in addition to my degree. How do I apply for graduation?
Students who are graduating with an additional degree or certificate will need to submit a paper application for the secondary degree or certificate. The application can be submitted in person or via email to okc.graduation@okstate.edu.
Who can I talk to about graduation?
Our Graduation Services Coordinator would be happy to answer your questions regarding graduation. You can call 945-8680 or send an email to okc.graduation@okstate.edu. To speak in person, please come to the Student Services building and check in with admissions.
Will you accept late applications for graduation?
In general, we are happy to accept your application for graduation, even if the deadline has passed. Please keep in mind that applications turned in after the due date my not be processed by the graduation date, and may delay the awarding of your degree. Additionally, if your application is turned in late, there may not be enough time to fix any errors or address any missing degree requirements which could cause your application to be marked deficient.
Applications for graduation in a previous semester will not be accepted.
In general, turning your application in before the deadline will help ensure your on-time graduation.
How do I apply for graduation?
The easiest way to apply for graduation is through the student portal at my.okstate.edu. Log into the portal with your OKey, click “Student,” and then click “Records.” From there, click “Apply to graduate” and follow the prompts.
How do I find out the status of my graduation application?
Once your application is updated and credits evaluated, we will reach out to you via email.
Diplomas are mailed once degrees are awarded. Please allow up to 8 weeks after the end of the term to receive your diploma.
Who do I talk to about my degree requirements?
You can talk about your program and degree requirements with your academic advisor. All advisors see students in person on a walk-in basis. Go to osuokc.edu/advisement/staff to find your advisor and their contact information.
My diploma has been lost, damaged, etc. How do I get another one?
To order a new copy of your diploma, you will need to submit a Diploma Reorder Request. The cost of replacement is $25, payable online with check or credit card. Once we’ve received your Diploma Reorder Request form, we will mail your diploma to the address provided. If you would prefer to pay in cash, please send an email to okc.graduation@okstate.edu.
You may submit a Letter of Completion Request if all course work has been completed and you are not currently enrolled in any course required for your degree. A completion letter includes the student's name, degree, major, degree conferral date, the university's official seal, and the signature of the University Registrar. Completion letter requests will be fulfilled in approximately 1-2 weeks. Letters can be requested for current or upcoming semester only. Submission deadline for any semester is Friday of pre-finals week for the term.
You may submit a Candidate Letter Request if you are currently enrolled in the final courses required for your degree. Candidate letters are certified statements that include the student's name, degree, major, expected degree conferral date, the university's official seal, and the signature of the University Registrar. Submission deadline for any semester is Friday of pre-finals week for the term.
Graduation Ceremony
When and where is the commencement ceremony?
The commencement ceremony for OSU-OKC happens once per year, and all graduates from that academic year are invited to participate. The ceremony is held at the Jim Norrick Arena.

What time do I need to arrive?
Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start. This will give you enough time to check in, and for your family and friends to find seating.

Family and friends are welcome to attend commencement.
Where do I get my cap and gown?
Your cap and gown is available for purchase at the OSU-OKC bookstore on the second floor of the student Center. If you are not able to come to the bookstore in person, you can make your purchase by phone. Call (405) 945-3201 to set up your order.
Where do I get my picture taken?
Our photographers will be present at the ceremony to take your picture as you cross the stage.
Additionally, our photographers will be available to take portraits for purchase at the Graduation/Transfer fair.
How can I ensure my name will be included in the Commencement program?
For your name to appear in the commencement program, you must submit your graduation application by April 1. If you are changing your RSVP from “Not Attending” or “Unsure” to “Attending”, you must do so no later than April 1.
Students who have completed a Request to Withhold Directory Information will not appear in the Commencement program.
