Academic Mace

Academic MaceIn 2005 OSU-OKC adopted this time honored tradition of passing the Academic Mace. The 59-inch mace consists of two sections; a stainless steel sphere symbolizing academia and an oak wooden scepter representing staff and administration. The sphere is made of steel to denote the technological mission of OSU-OKC. The sphere has eight semicircles, six representing the academic divisions, one for Faculty Senate and one for the Student Government Association. The acrylic disk inside the sphere, adorned with OSU-OKC’s official seal, represents traditional programs.
