AWS Academy Cloud Foundations
OSU-OKC is enrolling now for our AWS Academy Cloud Foundations certification course. Students will gain an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. This course provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, and support. This is a non-credit online course, lasting four weeks. At the conclusion of the course, students can sit for their AWS Cloud Foundations certification exam.
Students will go in-depth on the following topics:
- Describe the six advantages of cloud computing
- Describe three cloud deployment models
- Use the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework to help organizations transform storage solutions
- Explain AWS Lambda, which is serverless computing
- Describe use cases for storage options
- Understand virtual networking in the cloud
- Create virtual firewalls with security groups
- Provide an overview of different database services in the cloud
- Review the availability differences of alternative database solutions
- Describe different types of security credentials
- Discuss security compliance
- Explore well-architected pillars and design principles
- Understand high availability and reliability
- Describe business impact design decisions

Dates: Feb. 17-March 14, 2020 (Four-week course)
Cost: $500 (includes certification voucher for testing and all course materials.)
Additional information:
- No requirements necessary to take this course.
- Mostly online, with two to three in-person meetings.
- Certification testing on campus on the last day of class.
- Not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.
All OSU-OKC AWS Instructors hold a current AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification in conjunction with advanced degrees, IT industry certifications and real world experience.
