- Advice and assistance in secondary and postsecondary course selection
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance examinations and completing college admission applications
- Information on the full range of Federal student financial aid programs and benefits and resources for locating public and private scholarships and aid
- Assistance in completing financial aid applications, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
- Guidance on and assistance with
- Reentry into secondary school
- Entry into alternative education programs for secondary school dropouts that lead to the receipt of regular secondary diplomas
- Entry into general educational development (GED) programs; or
- Entry into postsecondary education
- Connections to education or counseling services designed to improve the financial and economic literacy of students or students’ parents, including financial planning for postsecondary education
- Academic advice and assistance in secondary school
- Personal and career counseling
- Exposure to college campuses as well as cultural events, academic programs, and other site activities not usually available to disadvantaged youth
- Mentoring and service learning
All Educational Talent Search program services are provided at no cost to students.
