Program Spotlight: Certified Professional Coder - HCM 1183

OSU-OKC's 16-week healthcare coding/billing class -- HCM 1183 -- prepares students to sit for the Certified Professional Coder exam. This class is offered as part of the Health Care Management associate degree, but can also be taken as a stand-alone course with the consent of the department head. HCM 1183 is available 100 percent online. The class is ideal for professionals in front-of-office medical settings who want to boost earning potential or broaden their employment opportunities by securing their Certified Professional Coder standing. It also could be beneficial for nurses who want to move from patient care to an office setting. The Health Care Management Program provides students with skills they need to support the business side of a complex healthcare organization. Regulatory and policy changes create an ever-changing environment in office operations  Students are exposed to healthcare management, human resources, leadership, and an intensive study of healthcare billing and coding, aligned with national certification standards.
