Oklahoma City - An OSU Degree in OKC.

OSU-OKC noted for smooth online transition during COVID

OK Gazette 2020 Winner Best of OKC

The Oklahoma Gazette has named OSU-OKC a finalist in "best place for continuing education" and the winner for "Smoothest Online Transition" for continuing education during COVID in its annual "Best of OKC" issue.

Structure provided by the university and instructors helped keep students on track as the pandemic shifted learning to online in spring 2020.

That structure was implemented by officials at OSU-OKC when the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on higher education institutions began to come into focus. The faculty and staff at the university moved quickly to ensure they could provide strong instructional outcomes for students by increasing or developing as many online or virtual options as possible.

Plans included not only the implementation of online classes, but the roll-out of virtual lab simulations, online tutoring and support, and even virtual academic advising.

The virtual academic advising platform allows current or prospective students to meet with an academic advisor through a live video chat. The technology allows students to experience a personal connection with university staff even when they can’t leave their home.

For these and other innovations, OSU-OKC was named the winner of "Smoothest Online Transition" in their "COVID-19" category in the "Best of OKC" issue in 2020.
