OKLAHOMA CITY – Officials with Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City announced today that Dar Yasseri will join the university as vice president of Student Experience.

Yasseri arrives at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) after serving nearly five years as executive in residence for the Oklahoma State University (OSU) School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in Stillwater.

Yasseri comes to Oklahoma City with more than 30 years of hospitality industry experience, with emphasis on operations, strategic relationships, guest strategy, and brand management.  He earned his bachelor’s degree from OSU in hotel and restaurant administration and a master’s degree from the University of Memphis in adult learning, with a concentration in training and development.

At OSU-OKC, Yasseri’s duties will include oversight of student experience.

“My vision is to create memorable and equitable educational experiences for all of our students,” he said.

OSU-OKC President Brad Williams said he believes that Yasseri’s wealth of experience in higher education and the hospitality industry will be a benefit to current and prospective students alike.

“We are redesigning our online and on-ground student support programming in response to the needs of industry partners, and students who are balancing family, work, school, transportation to and from college, and childcare arrangements,” Williams said.  “Today’s world is complex and OSU-OKC is creating a framework of support that helps students manage competing priorities.”
