OSU-OKC to kick off 60th anniversary with reception on Sept. 14

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City is turning 60 and that calls for a celebration.

“We’re kicking off our 60th anniversary with a celebratory reception featuring a look back to our rich history and a look into our future,” said Dar Yasseri, vice president of student experience.

The event will be Sept. 14 in the Hub on the second floor of the Student Center beginning at noon.

OSU-OKC students, employees and honored guests are invited to gathering for cake, punch and remarks.

President Scott Newman will introduce a short video on the school’s history and present his vision for the future of OSU-OKC in the next 60 years.

Robin Jones, executive director of the WesTen District, will present a history of the area and OSU-OKC coming to the district.

Donovan Woods, director of development at the Oklahoma State University Foundation, will discuss the important work of the Foundation and upcoming fundraisers during the 60th year. Members of the President’s Leadership Council will speak about the Foundation’s impact on student lives.
