OSU-OKC to celebrate Juneteenth -- campus closed Monday, June 20

Classes will not be held on June 20, 2022, and campus will be closed in celebration of Juneteenth.

Starting this year, in 2022, the Oklahoma State University System recognizes Juneteenth as an official institutional holiday. Juneteenth marks the arrival of federal troops in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to ensure all enslaved people were freed, and commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.

With diversity, equity, and inclusion representing key priorities at OSU-OKC, the University has made the holiday part of its academic calendar. With June 19 falling on a Sunday in 2022, OSU-OKC's observance will be on Monday, June 20.
