New provost, vice president of academic affairs named at OSU-OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY  – Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City has announced Dr. Pam Stinson as its next Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs.  


Dr. Stinson is coming to OSU-OKC from Northern Oklahoma College where, most recently, she supervised nine academic divisions with more than 90 full-time faculty as the institution’s Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Stinson has also served as a full-time faculty member and fulfilled a range of academic leadership positions and roles.  


Dr. Stinson holds a Bachelor of English Education degree, and a Master of Communication Arts degree, from Northeastern State University. Her PhD is in Composition/Rhetoric & Renaissance Literature from Oklahoma State University.   


“Dr. Stinson’s strong academic background, track record of success as a chief academic officer, and significant experience in Oklahoma’s higher education system distinguished her from a strong candidate pool,” said OSU-OKC’s President Scott Newman. “I want to express my gratitude to the members of OSU-OKC’s Provost & Vice President of Academic Affairs Search Committee for their thoughtful, tireless work over the past several weeks, as well as the many members of our campus community who actively participated in the process.”  


Dr. Stinson is slated to transition to the OSU-OKC campus effective December 1.
