OSU-OKC to hold Health Sciences Division open house

Tours, information available at Allied Health Building on Oct. 29

OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 8, 2019) – The Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City Health Sciences Division will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29, program officials announced today.

The open house will be located at the Allied Health Building on the Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) campus, 440 N Portland Ave. The Allied Health Building is located adjacent to the OSU-OKC Farmers Market.

The come-and-go event will include tours of the school’s nursing, ultrasound and radiology simulation labs. Current students and faculty members from the division’s four programs – Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Sonography and Health Care Administration – will attend to answer questions and assist visitors.

“This event is an ideal opportunity for any student considering a career in healthcare,” said Penny Ridenour, division head for Health Sciences at OSU-OKC. “It could also be a great learning resource for professionals like LPNs or paramedics who want to transition to a registered nurse role.”

Each of the division’s programs will have informational booths stocked with candy for visitors to trick-or-treat. Light refreshments will be available and attendees can take part in short presentations on resiliency skills for students featuring HeartMath technology.

No RSVP is required. For more information about healthcare programs at OSU-OKC, go to www.osuokc.edu/health.
