Health, scholarships focus of $100,000 gift to OSU-OKC
OKLAHOMA CITY (April 24, 2023) -- A new endowment at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City will support health and wellness programming and student scholarships, and employee professional development.
The $100,000 gift from the Ken and Jimi Davidson Family will allow the institution to advance its existing health and wellness-focused programming, as well as provide support to students who are interested in pursuing health and addiction-related careers.
The name of the fund is Davidson Family Endowed Fund Supporting Mental & Addiction Health.
“Jimi and Ken are long-time OSU supporters,” said OSU-OKC President Scott Newman. “Their daughter, Sara, is an OSU-OKC graduate.”
Donovan Woods, Director of Development at the OSU Foundation, shared more about Sara’s story at OSU-OKC.
“OSU-OKC helped Sara stabilize herself academically as a non-traditional student and after graduating law school at Oklahoma City University, she now serves as Corporate Counsel, Commercial & ESG at PureView Advisors,” Woods said.
This gift will allow the institution to advance its existing health and wellness-focused programming, as well as provide support to students who are interested in pursuing health and addiction-related careers. OSU-OKC will look to expand on this gift with additional donors and funding in the future.
“OSU-OKC, like many other higher education institutions, has seen a significant increase in the need for quality health and wellness programming and services,” Newman said. “The Davidsons cornerstone gift will play a significant role in helping OSU-OKC meet those needs.”
