OSU-OKC announces enrollment deadline for fall Fire Academy

Students have until July 31 to enroll for eight-week academy

OKLAHOMA CITY (May 21, 2020) – Officials at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City have announced the enrollment deadline for the school’s fall Fire Academy.

Students have until July 31 to enroll for the eight-week academy, which is scheduled to begin on Aug. 17.

The academy provides students with hands-on and classroom learning so they can earn the firefighting certifications they need to gain employment as a firefighter.

Seats in the fall academy are expected to go fast following enthusiastic enrollment for the spring and summer academies offered earlier this year, said Joe Bennett, Fire Protection program director at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.

“We have seen sustained interest in our eight-week academy,” Bennett said. “We advise those who are interested to apply and enroll early in order to secure their seat.”

Academy seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information or to enroll, go to www.osuokc.edu/fireprotection.
