Edwards named interim provost, VP of academic affairs

OSU-OKC officials have announced changes to the school’s leadership team.

Dr. Joey Fronheiser has moved to take the position of department head of addictions counseling. OSU-OKC would like to congratulate Dr. Fronheiser for taking the lead in this important role.

Tracy Edwards has been named to the role of interim provost and vice president of academic affairs.

Edwards was appointed interim provost and vice president for academic affairs in June 2021.  Edwards joined in 2004 as a full-time nursing faculty member. In his 17+ year history on campus, Edwards has served in a variety of roles: faculty, Faculty Senate senator and officer, division head, and associate vice president for academic affairs. 

Edwards said of his appointment, “I am happy to continue to serve the OSU-OKC community in this role.  I look forward to helping share the story of Academic Affairs, our academic leadership, our programs, and our faculty with President Designee Dr. Scott Newman.” 

Edwards earned his MS in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.  He has completed post-graduate coursework at Capella University.  He received his Bachelors in Nursing from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma.
