Campus to close June 21 to celebrate Juneteenth

Cowboy Family,

In recognition of your hard work this year and the upcoming Juneteenth holiday, OSU is authorizing the use of administrative leave and closure of campus services for Monday, June 21. This allows our staff, faculty and students to engage in the celebrations planned for this weekend. Juneteenth National Independence Day on June 19 commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, with celebrations dating back more than 150 years. Juneteenth marks the arrival of federal troops to Galveston, Texas to ensure all enslaved people were freed. Diversity, equity and inclusion are priorities at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City, and we are committed to upholding these values.

Students should note that classes (in person and online) will not be held. Administrative leave will be provided to staff for this date.

Thank you, and enjoy the long weekend.
