Boeing awards grant to OSU-OKC for concurrent enrollment program

Funds totaling $45,000 support students at Oklahoma City’s Dove Science Academy

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 17, 2019) – The Boeing Company has awarded Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City an additional $45,000 grant to support concurrent enrollment programming at Dove Science Academy, university officials announced today.

The concurrent enrollment program creates a pathway for high-performing, motivated Dove students to gain college credit from Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) while in high school.

Boeing has awarded a total of $175,000 in grant funds to the program over the past three years. The grant funds can be used for tuition and fees, course materials, laptops and graduation expenses.

Through the program, 17 high school students from low-income families graduated in May with an associate degree from OSU-OKC. As many as 25 more students are on track to do the same in May 2020.

Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company, also has supported Dove students through mentorship opportunities in which Boeing engineers discuss the importance of education while helping families understand the path to employment.

Dove school officials said their students are thrilled to be able to take advantage of the opportunities offered through OSU-OKC.
