Amazon recruiters return to OSU-OKC for extensive hiring push

A multi-month hiring event aimed at identifying employees for Amazon facilities in Oklahoma City will kick off Oct. 1 at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.

Amazon recruiters will be based at the Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) campus, 900 N. Portland Ave., for several months as they seek employees for their distribution center near Interstate 40 and Council Road and their delivery center near Interstate 35 and Hefner Road.

Recruiters are seeking part-time employees as Amazon prepares for its peak shopping season.

Processing for job applicants will take place at the OSU-OKC Engineering Technology Center, which is located at the northwest corner of the campus, near NW 10 and Portland Avenue.

The hiring process will eventually transition to the Community Impact Center, formerly the Oklahoma County Extension Office. That building, located just to the west of the OSU-OKC parking garage, is being renovated to serve as the primary home for Amazon’s hiring push in Oklahoma City.

“We value our role as a community partner, and we are pleased to be able to assist Amazon recruiters as they seek job applicants for their Oklahoma City facilities,” OSU-OKC President Dr. Brad Williams said. “Renovating the Community Impact Center will not only create a more welcoming environment for Amazon, but will establish a home for any number of local entities seeking office, work or event space in the future.”

This will be the second stint at OSU-OKC for Amazon recruiters. The company conducted on-campus hiring for various local positions during the end of August and early part of September.

For its next round of hiring, Amazon recruiters recommend employment-seekers first fill out an online application in order to schedule an in-person interview appointment. A link to help guide applicants through the process can be found by clicking the Amazon button on the OSU-OKC homepage – osuokc.edu.

For those who cannot fill out an application online, walk-ins will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
