Applying to Nurse Science
How to Apply
Admission to the Nurse Science program is based on a points system. Review the student admissions profile to understand how these points are calculated.
Before applying to the program
Ensure that you meet the minimum requirements for admission to the program. Students must have the following:

Application Checklist
Step 1: Apply to OSU-OKC
Interested applicants of the Nurse Science program must first apply and be admitted to OSU-OKC. When applying to OSU-OKC, declare the Nurse Science program as your major.
When applicants are transferring courses from other institutions, it is strongly suggested to apply to Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City approximately 4-6 weeks prior to submitting a program application packet.
Complete the OSU-OKC institutional application
Step 2: Have an OKEY student account to receive official school emails.
Activating an OKEY student account will provide you with a Campus-wide ID and student email address (@okstate.edu). You must list your CWID on all application documents and communicate with your official okstate.edu email account.
Step 3: Ensure all pre-requisite and support coursework is complete.
It is strongly recommended to apply to the program after you have completed all the above required (CAAHEP) prerequisite and support course(s) with a grade of ‘C’ or higher. Completion of the following courses with a “C” or better grade posted to your transcript prior to the application deadline:

*PSIO 2314 is recommended to have been completed prior to application but can be taken during the same semester as NURS 1314.
At OSU-Oklahoma City, you will earn an associate in applied science degree with a major in Nurse Science. The general and related courses required for this degree will assist in providing you with the knowledge and skills you need to care for your patients and will assure that you meet the requirements of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for earning a college degree. General education courses such as English Composition, History and American Government will usually transfer if they are three credit hour courses. Science courses must be a minimum of four credit hours. It is strongly recommended to call our Admissions Department to ensure course transferability and/or our advisement department to undergo advisement for any remaining required prerequisite coursework. Step 4: Submit official transcripts to OSU-OKC
Send copies of official, sealed and/or unopened electronic transcripts of all college courses to the admissions office along with your application packet to okc.admissions@okstate.edu. Student copies are not considered official. This process should be completed a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks prior to applying to the program.
A cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 (C) on academic work completed is necessary to be considered for the cardiovascular program.
Step 5: (LPN/Paramedic students ONLY) Submit a copy of active, unencumbered, LPN or Paramedic Oklahoma state license, or copy of Paramedic National Registry certification.
Step 6: Complete and Submit Pre-admission Exams.
Traditional Pathway
Applicants interested in the traditional pathway should complete and submit Accuplacer scores in Reading, Writing, and Quantitative Reasoning
Career Ladder Pathway
Applicants interested in the Career Ladder Pathway should complete and submit HESI career mobility (HESI LPN-ADN or HESI EMS-ADN) exam results with a score of 750 or greater for LPN applicants or a score of 700 or greater for Paramedic applicants.
Step 7: Complete the Nurse Science application form for your desired pathway.
In addition to the general online application, applicants should complete and submit the program application to the department. Return the completed form to the appropriate address designated on the form.
