Advanced Placement (AP)

Oklahoma CareerTech Transfer Courses
Students who have completed approved CareerTech coursework may transfer credit to OSU-OKC through the OSU-OKC Course Transfer List. Credit awarded through this pathway is applied to existing OSU-OKC courses with a GPA-neutral grade of “CBE-P” after earning 6 hours of course credit from OSU-OKC.
CareerTech Credential-to-Credit Pathway
Students pursuing an AAS in Applied Technology who have attended Oklahoma CareerTech and earned an industry certification may submit their CareerTech transcript for evaluation of potential OSU-OKC credit opportunities.
Military Service Credit
OSU-OKC recognizes the college-level knowledge and skills that are sometimes earned through military service. Official military transcripts may be evaluated for applicable credit toward your degree.

What is the maximum amount of Credit for Prior Learning I can earn toward my degree?
CPL will comprise no more than 75% of program requirements.

What grade will I earn if I have passing Credit for Prior Learning and when will it show on my transcript?
Grades are recorded as CBE-N (credit by exam - neutral) until the student has earned a minimum of 6 hours from OSU-OKC. Once the 6 hours have been earned, the grade will change to CBE-P (credit by exam - pass). The grade is GPA neutral and will not increase or decrease your GPA.

Is there a cost for Credit for Prior Learning?
Industry Certifications and Portfolio Reviews are charged $5/per earned credit hour to be recorded on the student’s transcript. There are also testing fees associated with AP and CLEP exams that are charged by the company.
