Friday, May 29, 2026 | OSU-OKC campus
The Women's Tactical Summit will gather passionate individuals from diverse disciplines to inspire, educate, and foster resilience among female tactical professionals. This is the first human performance summit in the Oklahoma area specifically focused on women in tactical occupations. Historically, the unique needs of female tactical persons have not been adequately addressed in traditional conference settings. This summit aims to highlight the performance needs of women in these populations.
Our speakers will present evidence-based research and practices tailored to the distinct performance requirements of women in public safety and the military. We are excited to offer educational sessions on mental health, hormones, physical performance, sleep, and nutrition. All topics consider women's specific needs and challenges in demanding, fast-paced careers.

About OSU-OKC
The OSU-OKC Campus, steeped in a tradition of excellence, provides the perfect setting for networking and learning. Under the experienced guidance of Director Joe Bennett, the OSU-OKC Fire Academy trains between twenty and forty firefighters per semester. Sixty percent of these graduates are hired by a career fire department within two years of obtaining their certifications. Director Bennett, a dedicated advocate for enhancing educational pathways in tactical professions, has graciously agreed to host the inaugural Women’s Tactical Summit.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Who can attend the summit? Who is the target audience? How do I know if the summit is for me?
Our target audience is women who work in tactical professions, including public safety and the military. All talks are aimed directly at that demographic. We also warmly welcome the professionals (such as strength coaches, dietitians, mental health professionals and athletic trainers) who work with these women. Civilians who are not involved in the tactical space are absolutely welcome, and we encourage you to listen around the edges for nuggets that may pertain to you!
- What will I learn?
Our presenters are top-notch experts in their fields and will share female-specific and highly pertinent information on topics such as nutrition, supplementation, pelvic floor health, pre/peri/postnatal information, sports performance, physiology, mental and cognitive performance, injury risk mitigation, and related topics.
- Will I receive any continuing education credits for enrolling?
We believe strongly in the value of our program as a standalone educational experience for women in these careers. However, we recognize that obtaining CEUs is essential to many of our attendees. Due to our primary target audience of tactical personnel end-users, we provide only the following CEUs:
- OK CLEET (currently pending)
- NSCA (currently pending)
- NATA BOC (currently approved for 7 CAT A contact hours)
Please note that many organizations do allow "petitioning" for CEU recognition for events not formally pre-approved for their CEUs. An example might include the American Council on Exercise (ACE). ACE (or similar certifying body) may consider CEUs by petition. We make no promises or guarantees regarding any petitions to any certifying body or organization. This information on petitioning is provided as a courtesy only.
We currently have no active plans to pursue any other CEUs.
We recognize and thank our partner, the Public Safety Athletic Trainers' Society, for sponsoring the NATA BOC CEUs. PSATS handles all the behind-the-scenes work to get the event approved and pays the CEU approval fees.
All of that said, if you have an organization that is interested in not only sponsoring specific CEUs, but also completing the requirements (which can sometimes be substantial), we'd be happy to discuss this with you. Please feel free to reach out to azapp@okstate.edu to start the conversation.
- How can I get more involved in the conference?
We accept a very limited number of friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic volunteers to assist us the afternoon before, and the day of the summit, including tear-down. Please reach out to azapp@okstate.edu for more information.
We also anticipate that our partner, RISE (Renegade Inferno Society for Empowerment) will once again offer a ½ day hands-on training experience at the Oklahoma City Fire Academy for current firefighters. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
We are working closely with the OKCPD to see if we can create a similar experience for our LEOs. If you or someone you know is a local military member, we'd love to discuss how we can also create a training experience for our military attendees. Reach out to azapp@okstate.edu to discuss ideas.
- I see that there's a virtual option. Why should I come all the way to OKC?
Valid question! Although our virtual option is amazing, there is nothing like the energy of being in the room with our incredible subject-matter experts and attendees. Plus, we make good coffee, and my co-organizer, Meredith, brings an incredible selfie wall! You'll also get to hob-knob with our vendors and sponsors who are the BEST!
