Laboratory Practices

About Laboratory Practices Certificate

This certificate shows employers you have the basic lab skills needed to start working in a biotech lab with minimal in-house training, aside from any proprietary techniques specific to the company. Industry leaders are eager to hire technicians who already have these skills and often prefer them over candidates with a four-year biology degree who lack hands-on lab experience.

Coursework

You’ll earn this certificate by completing BMFT 1113 – Introduction to Laboratory Management, BMFT 1102 – Aseptic Techniques, BMFT 1102 – Basic Laboratory Operations, and BMFT 1134 – Introduction to Laboratory Equipment, along with the required general education prerequisites.
