Welcome to the English Department! The mission of the OSU-OKC English Department is to cultivate literacy, including the ability to read, write, research, and think critically, to prepare students for meaningful engagement with written discourse throughout their academic careers and beyond.

The department offers a wide variety of courses to students, including English Composition I and II as well as Technical Report Writing (ENGL 2333) for degree-seeking and transfer students. We also offer courses that count for Humanities (H) credit: Introduction to Creative Writing, American Literature I and II, British Literature I and II, World Literature I and II, Introduction to Literature, and special topics courses (ENGL 2050), such as the Art of Persuasion and The Tortured Poets Tradition.
