Basic RiderCourse™

The Basic RiderCourse™ is designed to be a safe, effective, and enjoyable training event for participants who have little or no riding experience.

Learn the physical and mental skills important for operating a motorcycle.

  • Motorcycle licensing course for students 14 and over
  • Motorcycle and course materials provided

Instruction includes:

  • Introduction to motorcycling
  • Street strategies to avoid trouble and stay safe
  • Effects of drugs and alcohol on driving
  • How to maneuver your motorcycle
  • Avoiding obstacles – collision avoidance skills
  • And other topics…

Cost: $260 (includes course material)

PROTECTIVE GEAR REQUIRED FOR ALL MOTORCYCLE COURSES

All motorcycle RiderCourses™ require the operator have proper riding gear, which includes…

  • Over the ankle boots – Sturdy over the ankle boots with a non-skid sole. NO athletic shoes, NO leather soles, and NO flimsy fashion or high heel boots.
  • Sturdy pants – Denim or thicker material with NO thin spots or holes. Skin must be fully covered and protected.
  • Long sleeves – On warm days, a light-colored long sleeve shirt is recommended or a jacket when cool.
  • Full finger gloves – The gloves must cover the whole hand front and back. NO open back or knuckle cutouts.
  • DOT approved helmet – Due to COVID-19 we are not providing helmets.
  • Eye protection – The helmets face shield, sunglasses, or prescription glasses. NO goggles.

Basic RiderCourse™ Classes

Basic RiderCourse™ consists of 3 days

  • Pre-requisite-Computer E-course*
  • Five (5) hours classroom instruction
  • Ten (10) hours on-motorcycle instruction
  • Beginning February 2023 Course sessions are Saturday & Sunday 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., both days (No Friday evening class, information formally done on Friday will now be part of the on-line Ecourse.)

*Computer E-course is included in the cost of the BRC. A link, with instructions, will be sent 3-4 weeks before your scheduled course. It is a great study tool and ensures everyone is on the same page.
