Grants management skills are critical in today’s workforce. Multiple employers, including businesses, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and private entities, rely on grants for funding and need employees equipped with grants management skills. 

Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City offers non-credit Grants 101 to provide you with the skills and knowledge to work with grants effectively. This course will also cover specific grant aspects, including grants to tribal governments and funding sources. 
 

Grants 101: Finding and Applying for Funding 

Covers research and funding opportunities

Covers developing the aspects of the program, including design, evaluation, and creation of the program, as well as the budget

Covers terms and conditions, qualitative and quantitative reporting, and what to do if you do not get the award and want to protest

Each non-credit Grants 101 training is an intensive 16-hour workshop that provides focused training on a particular area of grants, helping participants sharpen their skills with each learning session. 

Completion of all three non-credit training courses of Grants 101 makes you eligible for review of potential academic credit for PSER 2103 Introduction to Grant Writing and Administration. For more information, contact Lathonya Shivers at lathonya.shivers@okstate.edu

Course tuition includes a digital badge from OSU-OKC to demonstrate completion of these courses. 

Textbook: Please note that students are responsible for purchasing the required textbook. It is required to bring your textbook to class with you on the first day of the class, and the same textbook will be used for all Grants 101 classes. The textbook is available for purchase through the OSU-OKC bookstore, and textbook information is the following:

How to Register and Pay:

Registration and payment must be received 7 days before the first class starts.  Each class requires its own registration and payment. Any fees to ship materials overnight or rush shipping is the responsibility of the student.

WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICY

  1. Request to withdraw from the program must be in writing via email to okc.tdc@okstate.edu

  2. Students must give 24-hour notice before class date to withdraw from the class to receive any refund not including service/transaction fees.

  3. Once books and materials are ordered, students who wish to withdraw are not eligible for a refund.

  4. Students may transfer the enrollment to another person if materials have not been ordered yet – OSU-OKC will not arrange this transfer and we MUST approve.

  5. Stopping payment on a check or credit card payment does not constitute withdrawal.

  6. Students who have received scholarships, grants or educational benefits are responsible for notifying the issuing organization of their withdrawal from the program.  Responsibility for reimbursement of funds is the responsibility of the student.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attendance policy is dependent on program length.  Consult the instructor or the class syllabus for specific guidance.

Note: The class will need 10 students to make and will be full at 30.
