Countdown to HLC Visit: November 11-12, 2019
Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City (OSU-OKC) has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) since 1975. HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the north central region, located in 19 states across the nation, and conducts a full review of accreditation every 10 years. The next site visit by the Commission’s Peer Review Team is scheduled for November 11-12, 2019.
Currently, OSU-OKC is on the Open Pathway, which is one of three options institutions have for maintaining their accreditation with HLC. It follows a 10-year cycle and, like all pathways, is focused on quality assurance and institutional improvement. The Open Pathway is unique in that its improvement component, the Quality Initiative, affords institutions the opportunity to pursue improvement projects that meet their current needs and aspirations.
To prepare for this visit and make our case for HLC reaffirmation of accreditation, OSU-OKC has compiled an Assurance Argument (this link will become active upon completion of the report) to present to the Evaluation Team. The report is based on five criteria, each made up of 4-5 Components, that the Higher Learning Commission has established.
